This site is an APR calculator which can be used to determine if advertised APRs are correct and within tolerance. The calculations follow the guidelines in the OFT manual on APR calculations. This manual also provides guidance on the assumptions and approximations which can be made when entering data (read more about the method of APR calculation). Total amount payable and total charge for credit are also calculated.

It is free to calculate APR (as well as total amount payable, total charge for credit etc). It is currently free to download the associated report (click here to download a sample report) though a charge will be levied for this in due course. No liability can be accepted for errors in the results. Spreadsheet software must always be used to check calculated values.

Click the members link on the left to enter some test data. You will first need to register an email address and password.

The data you enter cannot be viewed by any other site users and so is confidential

The site is currently completely free to use at your own risk. The calculations are likely to remain free but the reports may have a charge associated in the future as of course would any consultancy/expert services.
